Spain will provide financial assistance to establish a cultural hub in Ukraine

On February 16, Alexander Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Ricardo López-Aranda Hagu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine and Javier Fuentes Lech Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Ukraine discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Spain in the field of culture, cultural heritage and media.

This was announced by X24 Global news with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Alexander Tkachenko thanked the Spanish side for the comprehensive support of Ukraine and Ukrainian culture, in particular for the full financial assistance for the creation of a cultural hub in Lviv. This project is implemented by UNESCO. The Spanish side allocates 1.5 million. Euros. Spain also actively supports decisions on Ukraine at meetings of international organizations.

“I’m glad that today we discussed concrete projects in the field of photography, cinema, music and theater both in Spain and in Ukraine, and cooperation between our artists and institutions. In Spain, there are a number of events in support of the art of Ukraine, for example, a large exhibition project In the eye of a hurricane. Avant-garde in Ukraine» at the Thyssen – Bornemis Museum in Madrid. The Ambassador emphasized the quality and success of the exhibition. We need more of these projects, as we agreed. We are working on deepening our relations”, – said Alexander Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The sides also discussed the need of Ukraine in cultural exchange and international cooperation, specific projects related to supporting the activities of Ukrainian cultural institutions. The issues of popularization of Ukrainian culture and art, grant programs for artists and managers in the field of art, as well as media support and other issues were also raised at the meeting.
