Oppo to launch new K-series phone likely Oppo K15 in India soon, here is everything we know so far

Date:

Oppo has started teasing its next K-series phone for India. The company hasn’t revealed the name yet, but it is highly likely to be called the Oppo K15, given that it would succeed the Oppo K13 and the number 4 is considered a bad omen in China (so an Oppo K14 seems highly unlikely, though we will have to wait and watch out for official communication).

The K-series, in the past, has spawned multiple variants. The Oppo K13 was followed by the Oppo K13x. There was also a Oppo K13 Turbo made exclusively for gamers. Whether Oppo will follow the same approach with the Oppo K15 (or whatever its next K-series phone is called) remains to be seen. What seems highly plausible at this point is that Oppo is ready to launch at least one new phone, and it would belong to the K-series.

Oppo K-series to get new model in India soon

“Get ready for the next K. The new Oppo K series is coming soon,” Oppo has teased on X. A dedicated microsite on Flipkart that has simultaneously gone live gives us – what appears to be – the first look at the upcoming Oppo K15. Obviously, this also confirms that the phone will be sold on Flipkart.

The microsite shows a handset in motion, containing a rear dual camera setup inside a pill-shaped camera module. The cameras are positioned next to an LED flash. On the design front, the smartphone seems to feature a flat rear panel with a rounded edge. But this initial teaser doesn’t really give us anything on the exact look and feel of the product though we expect Oppo to share more details closer to launch. The launch date, too, is under the wraps for now. Again, we can expect to launch the phone in February, possibly in the next few weeks.

The Oppo K15 will be a sequel to the Oppo K13 from 2025. For those unaware, the K13 comes with a 6.7-inch Full-HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and a 7,000mAh battery. It was launched at a starting price of Rs 17,999 for a version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
