Cameroonian-born R&B and pop singer FUL has released his new single, Love & Affection, which has garnered much praise from fans and critics alike. The artist, who sings in both English and French, shot to fame after finishing as the first runner-up on the French African franchise of The Voice.
Finding himself through music
According to FUL, Love & Affection is a song that represents his personal journey, describing how he found himself and returned to pursuing music. “This song is kind of finding myself and coming back to what really made me do all the sacrifices I did in my life to do music and how I want to do it.”
He adds that this song is about the moment when one decides not to fall in love again, but life brings him a person who completely changes his outlook and forces him to reassess their predictions and decisions. “And you commit yourself to love her although you still have the past pains because she gives you the love and affection you’ve always wanted.” – FUL says.

But he says that there is one thing one will always find in his music – relatability and emotions. FUL lists Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish, and Ryan Tedder among his musical inspirations. The artist’s favorite song at the moment is Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” and his all-time favorite lyric is impossible to choose since he has too many to list. The first album he ever bought with his own money was Adele’s “25.” Lastly, if he had to choose one song to listen to for the rest of his life, it would be “Life in Color” by One Republic.
