French director Ariane Mnushkin conducts free author’s workshops on acting for Ukrainians

In Kyiv, from March 23 to April 5, French director Ariane Mnushkin and 15 actors of the Parisian Théâtre du Soleil conduct free author’s workshops on acting for Ukrainian actors, students and amateurs. The workshops were attended by 100 participants who was selected through pre-registration.

Théâtre du Soleil’s Nomadic School in Kyiv

Théâtre du Soleil’s Nomadic School is being organized by the Théâtre du Soleil in partnership with the National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine. The French director, Ariane Mnushkin, and 15 actors of the Parisian Théâtre du Soleil are eager to share their experience, which has already been gained by actors in the UK, Sweden, India, Chile, and other countries.

Director Ariane Mnushkin is convinced that all theater companies in the world create a small life within themselves. She noted that theater is a school of life, where people learn to accept each other, respect and equality.

Théâtre du Soleil’s Solidarity with Ukrainian Theater Workers

In March 2022, they donated 18 thousand euros to the Ivan Franko National Drama Theater for the development of a humanitarian center. Mnushkin believes that theater is a political and social medium that can raise awareness about the issues that the world is facing. She stressed that the Théâtre du Soleil is focused on young people, and it is important to train young members of the company and educate young viewers who are constantly replenishing the theater’s audience.

Mnushkin noted that theater is a school of life, where people learn equality, accepting each other and respect. The French director is confident that the workshops will create a small life within themselves and contribute to raising awareness about the issues that the world is facing.

The Théâtre du Soleil’s Nomadic School in Kyiv is a unique opportunity for Ukrainian actors, students, and amateurs to learn from experienced French actors and directors.
