The first ever International Festival dedicated to Mundang culture was held in Kael from April 10-16, 2023, bringing together Mundang brothers and sisters from all over Cameroon, Chad, and the diaspora. The event was organized by the Mundang Culture Association “Mbe Zah” and led by Taibe Ngaba, with the theme of “The Mundang people in celebration in the dynamics of reflection on their socio-cultural and socio-economic development.”
Celebrating Rich Cultural Heritage
The festival featured a wide range of activities that aimed to celebrate and multiply the rich cultural heritage of the Mundang people. From heritage dances and initiation dances to gastronomy and fashion shows, stories, skits, conferences, and debates, the festival offered something for everyone. Throughout the week, attendees were captivated by the various activities, which highlighted the unique traditions, customs, and beliefs of the Mundang people.
Promoting Domestic Tourism and Social Cohesion

The opening and closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Saleh Quebsabo, Prime Minister of Chad, who joined in the celebration and commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting Mundang culture and social cohesion.
