The 3rd French-Ethiopian General Committee of the Joint Declaration of Intent on the Promotion of Economic Development in Ethiopia is being held by the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance and the Embassy of France.

According to the French Embassy in Ethiopia, the 3rd French-Ethiopian General Committee would involve a confidential meeting between Ethiopian government officials and chosen French enterprises to address significant investment concerns and solutions.

According to the statement, they will also discuss how French companies can support Ethiopian economic transformation, with a focus on the renewable energy sector, as well as present the Ethio-French Business Club’s (CAFÉ) latest Business Climate Report, which is based on a study conducted among more than 50 French companies from September to December 2022.

Following that, there will be a discussion on how to solve identified challenges and strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors. This group will include representatives from many significant institutions in both nations, according to the statement.

Higher-level Ethiopian government officials, including State Minister of Finance Eyob Tekalign, and French Ambassador to Ethiopia Rémi Maréchaux, attended the conference.

According to the announcement, the French-Ethiopian General Committee was formed during French President Macron’s State visit to Ethiopia in March 2019. Both countries decided to host a bi-annual general committee to support Ethiopia’s economic growth and bilateral economic connections.
