Brazil: Lower House Approves EU–Mercosur Free Trade Deal

SAO PAULO, Feb 25 (Reuters) – Brazil’s lower house on Wednesday approved the recently signed free trade agreement between the European Union and the South American bloc Mercosur, pending a green light from the Senate to ensure the country’s full endorsement of the deal.

The approval by the legislatures of Mercosur’s members – Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay – is a necessary step for the trade accord to take effect after 25 years of negotiation
