Brazil increased imports of primary aluminum from Russia sixfold

The cost of raw aluminum supplies from Russia to Brazil in March this year increased more than six times year-on-year, to the highest values since 2021 for this month, RIA Novosti found out after examining data from the Brazilian statistical service.

In March, Brazil imported $6.6 million worth of aluminum from Russia, which is 6.2 times more than in March last year and 39% more than in February. At the same time, this was the maximum value for March since 2021.

In total, Brazilians bought $55.03 million worth of raw aluminum in March, reducing supplies both by a fifth in monthly terms and by 12% in annual terms.
