African countries with the cheapest household electricity prices

Date:

According to Statista.com, a reputable source of market and consumer data, infrastructure, location, and politically imposed taxes and levies all play a significant role in the wide variations in energy pricing throughout the globe and occasionally even within a single country.

Based on a survey period of June 2022, the data platform just published a data report on the world’s cheapest home electricity bills. After compiling the electricity prices by nation, it became clear that some nations were at polar opposite ends of the electricity cost spectrum depending on the aforementioned characteristics.

Understandably, some nations have greater electricity costs than others, but the survey revealed that certain nations have quite affordable electricity costs. Four of the 30 selected nations in the report are African nations.

Below are the African countries which have the lowest electricity prices on the continent, according to Statista.com. The figures on this list are represented in U.S. dollars per kilowatt-hour.
