British actress Florence Pugh releases her first songs

British actress and singer-songwriter Florence Pugh has released her first two songs – a slow ambient ballad and a heartbreaking piano song. The tracks were written and performed by Pugh for the movie “A Good Person.”

Songs that reflect the character’s mindset

In the film, Pugh’s character, Allison, is a talented musician whose personal tragedy sets back her career. Pugh explained that she wrote the two songs to reflect Allison’s mindset. Speaking about the process, Pugh said, that it was unbelievably helpful and hard. She wanted a song to reflect her attitude to herself in a way that the audience can truly understand.

Pugh’s Hollywood career

“A Good Person” features a star-studded cast including Morgan Freeman, and is written and directed by Pugh’s ex-partner, Zach Braff. The film’s soundtrack also includes tracks by the Velvet Underground and Fenne Lily, with the score composed by Bryce Dessner, known for his work on films such as “The Revenant” and “C’mon C’mon.”
Pugh has been making waves in Hollywood in recent years, starring in critically acclaimed dramas such as “The Wonder” and “Don’t Worry Darling.” She is set to appear in a number of high-profile films in the coming years, including Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” the second part of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” remake, and the Marvel ensemble movie “Thunderbolts.”
