Luxembourg Allocates UAH 1.3 million to Support Ukrainian Artists

Date:

The Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg has announced its allocation of UAH 1.3 million to support Ukrainian artists. The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation will partner with the Ministry to provide support for artists and creative professionals in Ukraine. The announcement came following meetings with Sam Tanson, Minister of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Vladyslav Berkovsky, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

Cooperation to Support Ukrainian Identity and Culture

The partnership aims to support and encourage artists and creative professionals in Ukraine, promoting Ukrainian identity and culture. This initiative also upholds freedom of artistic expression as a fundamental European value. The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation is an effective and transparent institution that will provide funding for individual artists under the Restoration of Cultural and Artistic Activities grant program. The partnership aims to distribute funds in a way that is conducive to fruitful cooperation.

Prioritizing Support for Independent Artists

Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, expressed gratitude to Luxembourg for their support. The Ministry has been working systematically to support independent artists in Ukraine, and the allocation of funds by Luxembourg is a welcome boost to these efforts.

“This is the result of our systematic work with our Luxembourg colleagues. Supporting independent artists remains our priority. Due to the war, domestic funding is not enough. Therefore, at every meeting with our international partners, I emphasize that the support of our cultural figures within the country is extremely important and valuable to us. The allocated funds will be used to support individual artists under the Restoration of Cultural and Artistic Activities grant program. I am grateful to Sam Tanson, Minister of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. Negotiations and signing of contracts with the winners will last until May 15 inclusive.

The allocation of UAH 1.3 million by Luxembourg to support Ukrainian artists is a commendable initiative that promotes artistic expression and helps creative professionals.
