Toast Unveils Collection of Creatively Repaired Clothing

Date:

Fashion and lifestyle brand Toast has launched its latest collection, Toast Renewed, featuring unique one-of-a-kind pieces that have been creatively repaired to increase their longevity. The collection showcases the beauty of the repair process, highlighting the craftsmanship of the brand’s repair specialists.

Collection Features Repaired Garments

The Toast Renewed collection includes womenswear and menswear garments, as well as soft textiles, that have been repaired by the brand’s specialists. Each piece was created using damaged items from Toast shops and those returned by customers to the warehouse. The repair specialists evaluated the items for fabric, color, and texture before embarking on the repair. The collection features signature Toast workwear that has been repaired using the ancient Japanese technique of sashiko, as well as Swiss and woven-darned knitwear and intricately embroidered dresses and quilts mended with patches.

The collection highlights the unique handwriting of the Toast team, with each repair specific to the item. Prices for the collection range from 90 to 350 pounds. The Toast Renewed collection is available exclusively online, with new styles to come later in the year.

Brand Focuses on Circular Fashion

Toast has a long-term focus on circularity, expanding on existing projects such as the Toast Exchange, an events-based clothes swap, and its free in-store repair service, Toast Repair, which has already repaired more than 3,000 items. The brand’s chief executive, Suzie de Rohan Willner, said that the Toast Renewed collection is the next step in the brand’s social conscience journey.

The brand is committed to implementing further initiatives across the business, from material sourcing and product development to recycling and product life cycle management. Last year, the brand announced that it was scaling back its collections to produce 20 percent fewer styles than in previous seasons as part of its roadmap to sustainability.

Toast’s latest collection, Toast Renewed, demonstrates the brand’s commitment to sustainable fashion through creative clothing repair and initiatives to reduce waste.
