Iran’s military has warned that it could target oil and gas infrastructure across the Middle East if its own energy facilities are attacked during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel. The warning came from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which said any strike on Iran’s energy sites would bring a strong and destructive response. In a statement reported by Iranian state media, a spokesperson from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said even a small attack on Iran’s ports or oil and gas facilities would lead to serious retaliation.
The spokesperson warned that any country involved in such an attack should expect a “crushing and devastating response”. Iran also said the retaliation would not be limited to its own territory.

Iran warned that if its energy infrastructure is attacked, it may target oil and gas facilities across the Middle East that are connected to the United States and its Western allies. According to the statement, these facilities could be set on fire and destroyed. The warning comes as tensions continue to rise between Iran, the US and Israel during the expanding conflict in the region.
How Many Targets Has the US Attacked in Iran?
According to the United States Central Command, American forces have struck more than 5,500 targets inside Iran since the war began. These strikes reportedly include attacks on more than 60 vessels. The conflict has led to a series of military operations and growing fears of wider regional instability.
Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned that attacks on Iran’s power infrastructure could cause major disruption across the region. In a post on X, he said the entire region could face a power blackout within 30 minutes if Iran’s electricity systems were targeted. He also warned that such chaos could make US soldiers vulnerable.
Larijani added that while starting a war might be easy, it cannot be won through social media messages, and Iran would continue its response until its enemies regret their actions.
What Has Iran’s Leadership Said About Unity and Strategy?
Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei called for national unity as the conflict deepens. He also said Iran would keep the Strait of Hormuz closed to put pressure on its enemies. The strait is one of the world’s most important shipping routes for oil and global trade. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said the country’s main aim is to prevent such wars from being forced on Iran again.
He said Iran had already warned neighbouring countries that if the US joined attacks against Iran, American bases and assets in the region would become legitimate targets.
