Iran-Israel War: CBSE cancels class 10 Exams, reschedules class 12 Board Papers in middle East

A big development amid the ongoing war in the Middle East: the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled Class 10 board exams scheduled till March 11 in the region amid escalating tensions. As per the notification released by CBSE, the board will soon announce the mode of declaration of results for candidates who were expected to appear for the board exams in the Middle East. Here are all the details you need to know about the major decision taken by CBSE regarding the board exams in the region.

Why CBSE cancelled Class 10 exams in the Middle East

“Due to the current situation in parts of the Middle East — Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE — the board has decided to cancel Class 10 exams scheduled till March 11,” said CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.

Important details of the order by CBSE

CBSE detailed in its notification that all examinations scheduled from 07.03.2026 to 11.03.2026 stand cancelled. Examinations scheduled on 02.03.2026, 05.03.2026 and 06.03.2026, which were earlier postponed, shall also stand cancelled.

The mode of declaration of results for Class X candidates in the Middle East will be notified separately in due course.

What CBSE said on Class 12 examinations

The examination scheduled on Saturday, 07 March 2026, has been postponed, and the revised dates will be announced later. The board will review the situation on Saturday, 07 March 2026, and issue appropriate directions regarding examinations scheduled from Monday, 09 March 2026 onwards. All students are advised to stay in close contact with the official authorities of their school.

Update on CBSE Class 12 board exam

The authorities are still reviewing the situation to arrive at a definitive solution for the upcoming exams. Earlier, the board had postponed the examinations scheduled on March 2, 5 and 6 in the region.
