Egypt’s Digital Exports Double to $4.8 Billion, Securing 70,000 New Jobs 🇪🇬

Date:

Egypt’s outsourcing and digital services sector is experiencing major momentum, doubling its export revenues and securing significant job creation pledges. Digital export revenues have surged from $2.4 billion in 2022 to $4.8 billion in 2025, representing a 100% increase in three years. This growth underscores Egypt’s successful shift toward a knowledge-based economy, moving beyond traditional revenue streams like commodities and tourism.

This momentum was solidified during the recent Global Offshoring Summit 2025, where the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) signed 55 strategic agreements with leading global and local technology firms, including Accenture, Deloitte, and Teleperformance. These partnerships are projected to generate over 70,000 new, high-value jobs over the next three years. The number of offshoring companies operating in Egypt has also more than doubled, growing from 90 in 2022 to over 240 in 2025.The success is attributed to Egypt’s strategic advantages: a large pool of skilled, multilingual talent, significant government investment in digital infrastructure (including a $6 billion investment and fiber optic expansion), and a competitive operational cost structure. The Ministry of Communications aims to raise total outsourcing export revenues to $9 billion by 2026, cementing Cairo’s claim as a global hub for IT services, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and engineering R&D.
