A high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by State Minister of Culture and Sports Nefisa Almehedi, is attending the 11th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia, from September 11–13, 2025. In her address, Nefisa emphasized Ethiopia’s rich cultural diversity, highlighting its role in promoting unity, creativity, and resilience. She stressed that culture is a powerful tool for dialogue, peace, and international cooperation, reinforcing Ethiopia’s commitment to enhancing cultural exchange and people-to-people connections.
As part of Ethiopia’s participation, the Kin Ethiopia: Ethiopia Rising Art Troupe performed at the Alexandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on September 11. The troupe, consisting of over 70 performers, showcased Ethiopia’s vibrant traditions through music, dance, fashion, and coffee culture, offering a glimpse into the country’s ancient civilization and diverse heritage.
The troupe is also scheduled to perform in Moscow, aiming to further strengthen cultural ties between Ethiopia and Russia while highlighting Ethiopia’s artistic heritage on the global stage.
