Brussels Airlines Expands African Routes for Summer 2025

Brussels Airlines is set to enhance its network in the summer of 2025 with increased flights to sub-Saharan Africa, reinforcing its role as a vital connection between Europe and the African continent. This expansion includes a 10% capacity boost, providing travelers with greater convenience and flexibility while promoting tourism and business ties.

Expanded Routes and Frequencies

Beginning in June 2025, Brussels Airlines will offer additional flights to Banjul, The Gambia, as part of its commitment to strengthening connections within the region. The updated schedule will feature:

  • Daily flights to Nairobi (Kenya) and Accra (Ghana)
  • Increased frequencies to Dakar (Senegal) and Abidjan (Ivory Coast)
  • Daily direct flights to Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), a key flagship route.

These enhancements will bring the airline’s total number of weekly flights across Africa to 56, supporting both leisure and business travel.

Commitment to Premium Travel

Brussels Airlines CEO Dorothea von Boxberg highlighted the strategic importance of Africa in the airline’s growth plans. The focus on Kinshasa with daily direct services underscores the airline’s dedication to fostering deeper connections with African markets. To further elevate the travel experience, Brussels Airlines is also investing in upgrades to its long-haul fleet and cabin interiors. By 2027, the fleet will expand to 13 aircraft, ensuring premium comfort for passengers.

With its expanded African network, Brussels Airlines aims to play a significant role in promoting tourism and facilitating business opportunities. The additional flights to destinations like Banjul will provide more options for travelers, bridging gaps and fostering stronger ties between Europe and Africa.
