Spearheading Qatar’s delegation is Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change. His participation underscores Qatar’s commitment to addressing pressing environmental issues both regionally and globally.
On the sidelines of COP29, Dr. Al Subaie met with officials from Iran and Japan to discuss climate collaboration. In a notable meeting with Shina Ansari, head of Iran’s Department of Environment, discussions centered on mitigating the impacts of sand and dust storms (SDSs), a critical challenge for both nations.
“Climate change has already impacted several provinces and caused severe environmental issues in the country. However, addressing the consequences of climate change requires collaborative efforts of regional countries,” Ansari emphasized.
