Armenia to Host Iranian Knowledge-Based Delegation

Armenia is set to welcome a delegation of Iranian knowledge-based companies, supported by the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy. This delegation aims to showcase Iran’s latest advancements in technology and explore new markets for Iranian products.

Showcasing Iranian Innovation

The delegation will display cutting-edge achievements in the following:

  • Medical, dental, and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Laboratory equipment and raw materials.
  • Diagnostic, rehabilitation, orthopedics, and physiotherapy devices.
  • Hospital construction materials and operating room facilities.

Key Programs and Meetings

The Iranian delegation plans to engage in several high-profile events, including:

  • Presentations at Armenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen.
  • Joint meetings with innovation and technology associations.
  • Collaborative discussions with venture capital companies.
  • Meetings with Enterprise Armenia and the Armenian Ministry of Health.

Strengthening Medical and Technological Ties

This initiative follows a history of collaboration between Iran and Armenia in the medical sector. In October, officials from both countries exchanged lists of essential medicines and medical equipment to expand joint activities.

The Armenian Ministry of Health has shown strong interest in Iranian pharmaceutical products, particularly oncology drugs, highlighting their quality and global reputation. The ministry has also committed to facilitating Iran’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and simplifying the registration of Iranian medicines and equipment.

Expanding Opportunities

In February, the 18th session of the Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Committee resulted in the signing of 19 agreements covering trade, maritime transportation, food, and medicine. Armenia has also expressed interest in hosting an exhibition of Iranian medical products.

Iran’s remarkable achievements in producing biotech medicines, along with 99% domestic production of its pharmaceutical needs, position it as a key partner in the region. This delegation aims to strengthen these ties and open new doors for cooperation.
