Apple Expands Footprint in India with Four New Retail Stores

Date:

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc., has announced the opening of four new official retail stores across India, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to the rapidly growing Indian market.

“We can’t wait to bring four new stores to customers in India,” Cook said, as he revealed the tech giant’s expansion plan.

The new outlets will be strategically located in key urban centres: Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and the Delhi-NCR region.

The expansion is expected to create around 400 jobs, boosting both local employment and Apple’s customer service reach in the region.

This decision follows Apple’s record-breaking revenue in India during its third fiscal quarter, a milestone Tim Cook celebrated, noting the enthusiasm and rising demand for Apple products in the country.

India, a vital market for Apple, generated approximately 800 crores ($96 million) from its two existing flagship stores in Mumbai (BKC) and Delhi (Saket) during their first year of operation.

Apple’s performance in India is particularly significant, as the company’s total iPhone revenue reached $46.2 billion for the quarter, up from $43.8 billion the previous year.

India’s role as a manufacturing hub has also expanded, with Apple doubling iPhone production in the country to $14 billion in fiscal 2024.

Apple’s CFO, Luca Maestri, praised the double-digit growth in India and South Asia, which contributed to the strong performance across all product segments.

This strategic growth highlights Apple’s dedication to deepening its presence in India and building on its success in one of the world’s largest consumer markets.
