Iran’s Amir Hossein Firouzpour Wins Gold At 2024 U-23 World Wrestling Championships

Iran’s rising freestyle wrestling star Amir Hossein Firouzpour clinched the gold medal at the 2024 U-23 World Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania.

Amir Hossein Firouzpour emerged victorious in the 92 kg category, defeating his American competitor Jacob Cardenas with a score of 11-4 in an intense final match.

The championships also saw impressive performances from Mustafagadzhi Malachdibirov, competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete, and Ion Demian from Moldova, who both secured bronze medals in the same weight category.

This year’s U-23 World Championships gathered more than 650 wrestlers from around the globe, including 240 participants each in Freestyle and Greco-Roman events, along with 184 competitors in Women’s Wrestling.

The competition has turned Tirana into a vibrant wrestling hub, as young athletes from various nations demonstrate their skills on the international stage.
