Ethiopia, IFAD Sign 106.4 Million Dollar Grant Agreement

Ethiopia and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) have signed a grant agreement of 106.4 Million dollar financing agreement.

The agreement was signed by the Eastern and Southern Africa Division Regional Director of IFAD, Sara Mbango-Bhunu, and the Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide.

Several development partners, notably IFAD (78.2 million dollars), the EU (17.84 million dollars), and the ASAP Grant (10.5 million dollars), contributed to the funding.

The grant’s earnings will be put to use to pay for the PACT program’s (participatory Agriculture and Climate Transformation) execution in Ethiopia.

The program’s goal is to give 15,000 rural households in specific kebles the ability to steadily increase their incomes, food and nutrition security, and climate shock resistance.

The targeted beneficiaries will focus on women’s youth and persons with disabilities.
