Experience the rhythm of Africa at AfriCa Fest Victoria 2023

Date:

Pulcherie Mboussi, a Cameroonian-Canadian who moved to Victoria 12 years ago, has organized AfriCa Fest for the past nine years. As the founder and CEO of the African Art & Cultural Community Contributor CCC Inc. and the founder/executive director of ISAAMBA Centre, she is a well-known figure in the African community in Victoria. Mboussi aims to bring the African community together and create a space where newcomers from Africa can feel at home. AfriCa Fest is an event that celebrates African culture and heritage, and aims to raise awareness of the diversity of African countries and ethnic groups.

Bringing the African Community Together

Mboussi created AfriCa Fest to bring the African community together and create a space where people can feel at home. The festival has become an annual event that celebrates African culture and heritage through food, music, dance, and educational components. Mboussi wants to raise awareness of the diversity of African countries and ethnic groups.

Celebrating African Culture

AfriCa Fest is a celebration of African culture and heritage that aims to showcase African rhythm in a modern way. The festival features local groups and artists, as well as Tamikrest, a band founded in Mali that mixes rock and pop with traditional African music. This year, the festival will also include a drum workshop, Latin dancers, Zumba dance, and food. Mboussi hopes that the festival will bring people out and create opportunities for people to learn more about African culture.

AfriCa Fest takes place from May 26-28 at Centennial Square in Victoria, and admission is free. Mboussi encourages people from outside of the province to attend the festival and experience the diverse cultures and traditions of African communities. With the festival’s open-to-all energy, AfriCa Fest will continue bringing people together and celebrating the rich and diverse culture of Africa.
