Ruwasa is set to drill 19 wells at a cost of over 500m/- in Buchosa

Residents of Buchosa District Council can now look forward to clean and safe water as the Rural and Urban Water Sanitation Authority (Ruwasa) is set to drill 19 wells in the area. The initiative will cost over 500m/- and is expected to be completed within six months.

Drilling for Clean Water to Begin Next Week

Engineer George Massawe, Ruwasa District Manager, announced that drilling for clean water will commence next week. The first water well will be in Nyangalamila B village, Ilenze Ward, where the previous well was damaged. The well is expected tol serve about 4,000 villagers.

Permanent Solution to Water Woes in the Area

Each well, including the one under construction, is expected to cost at least 27m/-. The government has set aside over 2bn/- for the implementation of the Ilenze Water project in the next financial year. This project will benefit about 18,000 residents in the ward and provide a permanent solution to water woes in the area.

Residents Commend Ruwasa for Emergency Well

Ms Elizabeth Deus, a resident of Nyangalamila B village, thanked Ruwasa for its efforts to construct an emergency water well. She called on relevant authorities to take action against the Nyangalamila Ward Councilor who destroyed the previous water facility. Before the construction of the well, residents were forced to use water from Lake Victoria, whose quality was questionable.

In conclusion, the drilling of 19 wells by Ruwasa in Buchosa District Council will significantly improve access to clean and safe water for the residents in the area. The Ilenze Water project will provide a permanent solution to the water woes in the ward, benefiting thousands of residents. The efforts of Ruwasa have been praised, and residents are optimistic about having access to clean water.
