Burna Boy Will Be The First Nigerian To Headline A U.S. Stadium

Date:

African Giant Burna Boy is set to make history this July. The Afrobeats star will headline NYC’s Citi Field stadium this July 8th, making him the first Nigerian artist to headline a U.S stadium.

Last year, Burna Boy became the first of his Nigerian artiste to headline NYC’s Madison Square Garden for his “One Night in Space” concert.

Burna Boy will perform on a number of monumental stages this summer, including the historic one that coincides with the release of his groundbreaking 2022 album Love, Damini and marks the album’s one year anniversary.

Burna plans to perform in venues like the La Defense Arena in Paris, the London Stadium, and the 34,000-seat Gelre Dome in Amsterdam with his Grammy-nominated album.

Burna, who started his North American tour this weekend at American rapper J. Cole’s Dreamville event with fellow Nigeran singer Arya Starr, will spend the most of the summer living in the United States.

The singer-songwriter will play at Coachella later in April before serving as the main act for AfroNation’s first excursion to the Miami beaches in May.

New York based Citi cardmemebers will be granted special access to pre-sale tickets from 10 am EST on April 4, to 10 pm EST on April 6, through the Citi Entertainment program. General on-sale starts Friday April 7, at 10 am local time on Burna’s official tour website.
